Reeves Lu is an illustrator and oil painter based in Oakville, Ontario. They currently attend OCADu, pursuing their BDes in illustration. Reeves creates representational works that strive to escape into fantastical aesthetics, and express the overwhelming feelings of grief and discomfort. Their representation of the human form revolves around the closely held belief that our bodies not only contain us, but that they trap our personhood, asking whether representation of our bodies can ever hope to represent us as people. Reeves is inspired by the act of close observation, high fantasy, napping, and queerness.
